The Asian
Development Bank (ADB) is to provide financial assistance to control
landslide at Lampata of Babiyachour-5 in Myagdi district.
A mission team under the leadership of
ADB representative Laxmi Adhikari reached in the district one week ago
to monitor the landslide agreed to provide financial assistance through
DecentralisedRural Infrastructure and Livelihood ImprovementProject(DRLIP).

Sharma said that the ADB agreed to provide all the expenses required to
operate transport services by controlling the landslide in a
long-lasting manner. The site lies along the Beni-Darbang road section.
Sharma added that Rs 27.5 million is the
estimated cost for the same. Works would be carried out to control the
landslide as per the report and suggestion prepared by a team headed by
geologist Nareshman Shakya after carrying out a broad study of the
landslide.
Locals of western area in the district
have been hit hard due to road obstruction at Lampata following
continuous landslide for the past four years.
The infrastructure constructed investing
Rs 8.3 million in the fiscal year 2069/70 BS through DRLIP to control
landslide of Lampata was destroyed by river eroding and landslide. RSS
